FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things people ask us most.

The basics

Is there really no file size limit?

Fylnest doesn’t cap file size. When you send from your own drive, the practical limits are your drive and your internet connection.

Where are my files stored?

Wherever you choose. Files on your own drive stay on your drive and are sent straight from your computer. Files you put in Fylnest cloud are stored on Cloudflare R2.

Does the person I send to need an account?

No. They open the link and download.

Does my computer need to stay on?

For files on your own drive, yes: your computer serves them, so it must be online while people download or upload. Fylnest cloud doesn’t need your computer.

When can I use it?

Soon. Join the waiting list on the home page and you’ll hear first.

How much will it cost?

We haven’t announced pricing yet. Waiting-list members will hear first.

Sending and receiving

Can clients send files to me?

Yes, with Send us stuff upload links. You choose the folder; they can only upload into it, and you can set an expiry and size limit or turn the link off. See Help.

Can I stop a link working?

Yes. Turn off any share link or upload link from the portal, and it stops working straight away.

How long will my upload take?

Use the Transfer time tool or the speed row on the upload page: it measures your line and estimates time per file and in total.

Security and privacy

How do you protect my account?

Sign in with a password or Google, and switch on two-step verification with an authenticator app and backup codes.

Can people see other files on my drive?

No. A share link opens only what you shared, and an upload link can only add files to its one folder.

What do you do with my data?

Only what’s needed to run Fylnest. Read the privacy policy.
